The museum is situated in the city of Bsharri, Gibran’s hometown. The monastery turned museum consists of Gibran’s possessions from his personal library to his drawing and painting material. The museum is also known for being Gibran’s final resting place. The poet’s tombstone is situated beside the museum in Bsharri, just as he wished it to be before he died.

The museum has 135 of Gibran’s original paintings that range from oil and watercolor canvases to charcoal canvases. It also includes most of his writings.

The entrance fee is normally 8,000 Lbp and 5,000 for students. The museum is open from 10:00 am till 5:00 pm in the winter and from 10:00 am till 6:00pm in the summer (starting May).
