Avedis Kalpaklian

Avedis Kalpaklian is a Lebanese mountaineer and expedition leader, founder of Summit Souls, with over 100 climbs across the world’s great mountain ranges. A high altitude climber and endurance athlete, he has stood on summits such as Mount Everest and Manaslu, leading expeditions that push both physical and human limits.

More than a climber, he is a nature keeper and advocate for responsible adventure, using mountains as a path for connection, growth, and environmental awareness. Through tourism initiatives, he helps travelers from around the world discover Lebanon beyond headlines, through its people, landscapes, and spirit. A long time Lebanese Red Cross volunteer, he carries the same commitment to service from the mountains into humanitarian action.

Driven by a vision to position Lebanon as a true mountaineering destination, he created Black Expedition Sea to Summit, a challenge like no other, connecting sea level to the summit of Lebanon - Qornet es sawda, in a powerful journey that reflects the country’s raw beauty and resilience.
