Chadi Saad

I’m originally from Hammana, where I worked for 28 years at the municipality. Today, as a local guide, I lead hiking groups along the mountain trails in the surrounding area and on the marked paths that crisscross the region. We pass through forests where you can observe animals, insects, reptiles, and—most of all—birds, which are my true passion. Whether local species or migratory birds, I photograph them here in Hammana, along their routes across Lebanon, and sometimes even abroad.

During our outings, I also share explanations about natural sites and historic routes shaped over time.

If you prefer, we can stay in the village: I’ll guide you through its old streets and alleys to visit churches, the local market, and tell you all about the history of Hammana. My wife Maya has been working for over 30 years on the village’s collective memory. She has conducted numerous interviews with residents and gathered an impressive archive of documents and photographs. Together, we’re now working on opening a museum dedicated to Hammana.
