Originally from Baalbek, I am the founder of Safe Side, an association dedicated to promoting domestic tourism in the Bekaa Valley. Our goal is to showcase the true image of the city of Baalbek and the wider Baalbek-Hermel region, including its many villages such as Yammouneh, Hermel, Chlifa, and others.
Today, our association counts 150 volunteers. I work within it as a local guide. We take visitors on unique tours that offer a different, unexpected experience of Baalbek. The idea is to encourage meaningful encounters with local residents and to explore traditional customs. For example, with us, tourists can learn how to make sfiha! They get to experience a kind of warmth and hospitality they weren’t expecting.
In the end, I see myself as an ambassador for my city—a place I am deeply connected to and immensely proud of.
