Originally from Byblos, Michel is a passionate mountain guide, certified in caving (French Federation, 1992) and climbing (French school, 2000).
For over 30 years, he has guided people of all ages and skill levels—children, adults, amateurs, and athletes—through the Lebanese mountains, offering experiences that combine nature, sport, and culture.
In 1996, Michel founded the Mountain Rescue Unit of the Lebanese Red Cross. He has trained several teams in mountain rescue operations, often in partnership with international experts, including the late French mountain guide and former alpine soldier Henri Augareils, who tragically disappeared in 2010 during an expedition in India’s Ladakh region.
Today, Michel leads caving excursions, particularly in the Roueiss cave, where he introduces visitors to the “symphony of the cave”—a sensory sound experience created by drops of water falling at varying distances, into water or onto rock, producing a unique and unforgettable natural melody.
Michel also offers climbing and personalized hikes focused on the themes of nature, sport, and culture.
In collaboration with the Wolves of Lebanon association, which trains civilians in environmental protection, he organizes immersive wilderness survival experiences.
Deeply attached to his hometown of Byblos, Michel also launched the concept of urban hikes, offering visitors the chance to explore local social and cultural life, hidden alleyways, and the city’s living memory. With Michel, every outing becomes a journey through time and across landscapes.
