Raja is a high mountain guide. Trained in France in 2002, his expertise extends far beyond mountaineering. In the early 1990s, also in France, he discovered paragliding in the Pyrenees. He brought this passion back to Lebanon, dreaming of soaring from the peaks of the Cedar Country. With support from the Regional Paragliding School of the Pyrenees (CERPP), he founded his own paragliding school in 1992.
Today, the Paragliding Club Thermique offers a variety of activities including paragliding flights, ski touring, snowshoeing, mountain biking, and trekking along Lebanon’s trails.
Raja and his wife — also a tour guide — host European groups for immersive experiences blending sport, nature, and culture: ski touring along the “Route des Cimes” (from Mount Hermon to Donniyeh), hiking the Lebanon Mountain Trail, paragliding over Jounieh Bay, and exploring historical sites.
With these custom-designed programs, Raja offers a unique way to explore Lebanon’s wild nature and warm hospitality — revealing the country’s rich cultural and natural diversity in just a few days.
