Umami is among the fewest Lebanese micro-wineries owned and managed by females; our wine reveals our passion and dedication for what we produce, while focusing on showing that “It’s not a matter of taste; it’s all about the Fifth Taste, UMAMI”.

The savory and pleasant taste of wine is what Umami’s owner and winemaker, Ms. Hiba Salloum, is trying to accentuate from our sourced vineyards, ideally located in the Bekaa Region. We focus on taking the utmost care in our vineyards, and producing a limited quantity of our flavorful and rich wines, while using artisan winemaking methods.

Our line of products includes ULTIMATE and Umami Red, blends of Cabernet Franc and Merlot, the Umami Rosé 100% Tempranillio, and the Umami White 100% Obeidy (indigenous grape).

Château Qanafar

Château Qanafar is a family-owned and run winery with the goal to produce the highest quality wine possible. The key to our ability to produce one of Lebanon’s finest wines is that all our grapes come from 17 hectares of vineyards owned or managed by us. We believe that 95% of any wine’s quality comes from the quality of the grapes, so we never make wine with purchased grapes. Who knows how others manage their vineyards, what they spray (and when!), or if they irrigate to favor berry size instead of flavor?

With all our vineyards being located less than 10 minutes away from the winery, we harvest manually and bring the grapes into the winery immediately ensuring only clean & fresh berries enter our fermentation tanks. Most of our grapes are grown at an average altitude of 1200m on gently sloping & non-irrigated vineyards, yielding wines of exceptional intensity and crisp acidity. Our winemaking philosophy centers on minimal interference, producing wines that are true to our terroir. Cheers!

St Clement Winery

St Clement Winery was found in 2010. It is located in the heart of Bekaa Valley, a region typically known for its favorable environmental conditions for growing grapes, such as moderate temperatures, adequate rainfall, and welldrained soil. The winery produces a wide range of wines, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and more. The winery is a small, family-owned business with 10 hectares of vineyards. The yearly production is limited to between 15 to 20K bottles.

The winery's vineyards are managed using sustainable farming practices, with a focus on preserving the natural environment and producing high-quality grapes. St. Clement Vineyards uses traditional winemaking techniques, including handsorting the grapes, to create wines that are expressive of their terroir. After fermentation, the wine is aged in oak barrels and stainless steel tanks to enhance its flavors and aromas.

This process takes no less than 2 years, depending on the type of wine being produced. Once the wine is aged to perfection, it is bottled and labeled for sale to consumers. St Clement winery offer wine tastings, allowing visitors to learn about the winemaking process and sample different wines.

Shouf Biosphere Reserve

The largest of Lebanon nature reserves, Al-Shouf Cedar Nature Reserve stretches from Dahr Al-Baidar in the north to Niha Mountain in the south. Blanketed with oak forests on its northeastern slopes and juniper and oak forests on its southeastern slopes the reserve's most famous attractions are its three magnificent cedar forests of Maasser Al-Shouf, Barouk, and Ain Zhalta - Bmohary. These Cedar forests account for a quarter of the remaining cedar forest in Lebanon, and some trees are estimated to be 2,000 years old. The size of the reserve makes it a good location for the conservation of medium-size mammals such as the wolf and the Lebanese jungle cat, as well as various species of mountain and plants.
