The museum is situated in the city of Bsharre, Gibran’s hometown. The monastery turned museum consists of Gibran’s possessions from his personal library to his drawing and painting material. The museum is also known for being Gibran’s final resting place. The poet’s tombstone is situated beside the museum in Bsharre, just as he wished it to be before he died.

The museum has 135 of Gibran’s original paintings that range from oil and watercolor canvases to charcoal canvases. It also includes most of his writings.
