Khân Al-Khayyatin also known as the Tailors’ Khan is considered as one of the oldest khans in the city of Tripoli and its construction dates back to the beginning of the 14th Century. It was presumably built on top the remnants and ruins of a Crusader and Byzantine monument in the middle of the old-age commercial countryside which was used to control and monitor the pathway overhead the Abu Ali River.
Its west side entrance stands a granite pillar surmounted with a marble Corinthian capital making this khan diverse and dissimilar to the others in the city. Furthermore, the renovated structure constitutes of a long passage alongside tall arches on every side and ten intersecting arches.
