Located in the Southern Lebanese city of Saida, the Soap Museum tells you everything you’ve ever wanted to know about soap making and history but never dared to ask. How do you make soap ? When was it created for the first time ? While visiting the museum. you’ll see demonstration of the traditional olive oil soap-making.
The place also tells you about the hamman tradition. The area of the museum used to be a soap factory, which was built in addition to the Khan al-Saboun between the 17th and 19th century (Khan al Saboun dates back to the 13th century). The factory remained active till 1975. Saida Soap museum is a must see in town.
