Près de Jezzine, une balade au fil des Bunkers de la 2e Guerre Mondiale

By following a 9 to 12 km trail along a loop that starts and ends in Jezzine, you pass through a little-known period of history in Lebanon: in this region, during the months of June and July 1942, a battle took place between the Australians and the French soldiers of the Vichy government, leaving World War II bunkers.

The walk is fairly easy, with an elevation gain of around 500 meters. It can take more or less time depending on the hikers' pace. The average duration is 4 to 5 hours.

This walk can be done in summer, provided you start very early in the morning. But the ideal season for this hike is spring: you then set off between 8:30 and 10:00 a.m., depending on your preference. You take your packed lunch, which you can enjoy during a break along the way. As you walk, you pass through villages, discover agricultural land and interesting geological sites, and stop to enjoy views of beautiful landscapes, offering vistas of Mount Lebanon, including the Barouk and Niha mountain ranges.
