Saifi Village, sometimes called the Arts District, is a high-end residential neighborhood in Beirut. Completely destroyed during the Lebanese Civil War, it was rebuilt with particular care given to the restoration of its buildings, originally built in the French mandate style.
The buildings are painted in pastel colors. The whole area, located between the very active neighborhoods of Achrafieh and Centreville, gives a feeling of calm and tranquility, with its paved pedestrian streets and small secluded squares.
Sometimes this neighborhood has been criticized for having a "theatrical decor" (as is the case with many rebuilt neighborhoods, regardless of the country). Nevertheless, the charm of Saifi is undeniable, and one would be wrong to miss it.
Here one can find shops of independent, local or international designers, as well as art galleries, but also cafes that combine modernity and tradition.
