If you visit Tyre City don't miss the opportunity to visit "Les Ateliers de Tyr" founded by the International Association to Save Tyre. A unique sustainable development project inspired by Phoenician culture. It is eco-designed to minimize environmental impact: collection, storage and treatment of rain water, recycling of grey water, solar energy system, locally sourced construction materials. Les Ateliers de Tyr was inaugurated on September 2017 with the objective to:

Reviving traditional craftsmanship
Achieving gender equality at the workplace and empowering women
Promoting equity over equality
Access to people With Disabilities
Create a new generation of artisans and transmit knowledge & craftsmanship
Promote and disseminate art
Ensure a sustainable development
Reduce the migration to the capital and create more opportunities at the regional leve
Development of an eco-tourism destination.

The project combines heritage and tourism in a natural setting and is surrounded by orange orchards.

Visit our Arts Workshops and discover the ancestral handicraft techniques: Glass Blowing, Pottery, Glass painting and Silkscreen Printing. Don’t forget to try out our Pottery wheel and our Glass painting courses.

The village stretches over thousands of square meters where you can take the time to stroll among the orange trees.
