Swiss architects helped in building this station. It is located in one of the most beautiful regions of Mount Sannine. It has been inaugurated in 1974 and it preserves its excellent reputation until now.
The Mediterranean sea, as well as Beirut, are visible from this station. Moreover, for visitors who want to learn new skiing techniques or to register their children in beginners’ courses, Fakra club has the most experimented group of instructors in Lebanon. A centre of paediatrics is available as well, and activities for children and adolescents are of big importance in this station.
Also, skiers can visit the natural bridge of Fakra and many other sites to enjoy the beauty of Lebanon. Sports centres are also opened and many activities can be practised like Bowling, Squash, Tennis, and Horse riding…The nearest hotel is L’Auberge de Faqra, and four restaurants are at the disposal of visitors, as well as two hundred and fifty chalets and a nightclub.
It is worth noting that Fakra is a private club but this doesn’t mean that the non-members cannot have access to it. This station is 1750m high and only 45km far from Beirut; this means that skiers just need one hour to reach it.
