Taynal Mosque

Taynâl Mosque is one of significant importance during the course of the Mamluke Era. It was constructed by Saif Ed-Dine Taynal in 1336 above the wrecked and damaged remnants of the Crusader Carmelite Church. The adjacent arched cemetery carries the coffin of the founder. A few fundamental aspects of the original and initial structure were utilized in the mosque; like for instance in the center of the first prayer hall you will find two rows of granite pillars. Furthermore, the second prayer hall embodies an entrance that portrays a sample of architectural decoration in Tripoli midst the Mamluke Era.
