VineyardChâteau Qanafar is a family-owned and run winery with the goal to produce the highest quality wine possible. The key to our ability to produce one of Lebanon’s finest wines is that all our grapes come from 17 hectares of vineyards owned or managed by us. We believe that 95% of any wine’s quality comes from the quality of the grapes, so we never make wine with purchased grapes. Who knows how others manage their vineyards, what they spray (and when!), or if they irrigate to favor berry size instead of flavor?
With all our vineyards being located less than 10 minutes away from the winery, we harvest manually and bring the grapes into the winery immediately ensuring only clean & fresh berries enter our fermentation tanks. Most of our grapes are grown at an average altitude of 1200m on gently sloping & non-irrigated vineyards, yielding wines of exceptional intensity and crisp acidity. Our winemaking philosophy centers on minimal interference, producing wines that are true to our terroir. Cheers!

VineyardThe story of Château Nakad is first and foremost that of a family, of three generations of winemakers from the Bekaa Valley, whose blood runs with passion for soil, wine and grapes.
In 1923, during the French Mandate in Lebanon, Joseph Nakad’s wine became a favourite among France’s deployed soldiers. The contingent commissioned large quantities of his fresh and lively vintages to lift the spirits of the troops.
Then, his son Salim took over the business. In his hands Château Nakad became one of the leading enterprises on the Lebanese wine scene.
Today, Joseph’s grandchildren, guided by their father Salim, are ensuring the prosperity of the label, consolidating its reputation both within Lebanon and on the international wine market.
The winery is located in the village of Jdita/Chtaura, in the Bekaa Valley, near the most fertile farmlands of the region. More importantly, it is built on the remains of wine cellars dating back to the Bronze Age.
The Nakad family currently produces red, rosé, white and sweet wine as well as the traditional Lebanese anisette liquor, Arack As-Samir. Another outstanding recent creation is the winery’s very own Afandello, an artisanal orange-flavoured liquor.
Another recent masterpiece, is the MISK, a mastiha liquor, as well as AREEJ, a Gin inspiration.

Accommodation Outdoors +11Al Haush is an elegant Agro guesthouse and a working farm in Central Bekaa, but like other spots in this glorious countryside, it was first settled during the Neolithic times and was famous during the Roman times when the Bekaa valley used to be known as the granary of Rome (Grenier de Rome).
The Bekaa valley rich background from ruins to vineyards, and stunning landscape in between, the Bekaa makes one of Lebanon’s richest regions in heritage and nature. From the earliest days to date, its endless green valley has attracted all generations of farmers who have lived from its generous lands. Here, communities spread over villages made of mud houses and separated by a yard, called “haushs” in Arabic, where farmers lived with their families, cattle and their harvest.
From up north Hermel down to Rashaya in the southern part, the Bekaa is still home today to more than 18 “haushs” that have become an intrinsic part of the inhabitants’ lifestyle and identity. While all of them carry beautiful legacies, one eternalizes nostalgia, turning a family story into a daily celebration of authenticity.
When the Saab grandfather, Salim, returned from Mexico in the twenties, he found in the Bekaa the closest resemblance to a dear place he had called home for many years, Mexico. Determined to duplicate his Mexican “hacienda” in Lebanon, he bought his land in the Centre of Bekaa in 1942 where he built his farm in 1945 and planted the seeds of his memories in thousands of acres of virgin green land.
Houch el Ghanam became since then the summer residence of many Saab generations, collecting moments of a family raised with a deep love for nature, and inspired by the touch of each of its members.
The family embarked on a painstaking restoration and rejuvenation of all the buildings, gardens and surrounding acreage.
Today, Al Haush is more comfortable and productive than ever, and has become one of the most genteel country estates in Central Bekaa.

VineyardSt Clement Winery was found in 2010. It is located in the heart of Bekaa Valley, a region typically known for its favorable environmental conditions for growing grapes, such as moderate temperatures, adequate rainfall, and welldrained soil. The winery produces a wide range of wines, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and more. The winery is a small, family-owned business with 10 hectares of vineyards. The yearly production is limited to between 15 to 20K bottles.
The winery's vineyards are managed using sustainable farming practices, with a focus on preserving the natural environment and producing high-quality grapes. St. Clement Vineyards uses traditional winemaking techniques, including handsorting the grapes, to create wines that are expressive of their terroir. After fermentation, the wine is aged in oak barrels and stainless steel tanks to enhance its flavors and aromas.
This process takes no less than 2 years, depending on the type of wine being produced. Once the wine is aged to perfection, it is bottled and labeled for sale to consumers. St Clement winery offer wine tastings, allowing visitors to learn about the winemaking process and sample different wines.
